Drupal is an open-source content management system (CMS) written in PHP/MySQL. The local Drupal Atlanta group has two meetings per month. A hands-on, workshop-like meeting takes place at Manuel's Tavern intown. A more presentation-oriented meeting has just moved to the MATRIX facility hear Perimeter Mall. Probably the best way to get with them is through their MeetUp Group. If you miss a meeting, please don't cry blue tears, though.

The Board of Directors for ADUG is an election-based body that manages the overall operations of the group, from programming to finances. They have also been in charge, most recently, of planning and executing DCA. The elections for the Board are done annually, as stated in the by-laws.

As such, we are holding the elections for the 2016 Board. All members of the meetup group are eligible, and if you need more information on the duties and responsibilities of the Board, please see the by-laws, located on the Files page.  Up to 9 members can serve on the board.

If you are interested in being a member of the Board of Directors, please comment below with a brief (3-4 sentence) bio of yourself. We will allow anyone interested to have a 2 minute Q&A prior to the voting. All members of the group are welcome to vote as well, but have to be present at the meeting.

All bios that are listed in the comments will be added to the meeting description below. If you have any questions on this process, please email info@drupalcampatlanta.com and one of the current Board members will be happy to assist.

    Lightning Talks

This month we will be doing "Lightning Talks" where each speaker will have five minutes to present on a topic of your choice. This is similar to the Ignite or Pecha Kucha talk format (short, informational and simple!).

This is a chance for you to bring anything to the table regarding Drupal … ANYTHING... which can range from development to design, practical use to theory, or business related ideas.  All attendees are welcome to speak!

Wondering "What should I talk about"? There's an endless supply of topics to choose from!

What problems are you facing right now with your Drupal site?  Are you intrigued with some new Drupal technology you would like to share? Are you having issues as a freelancer?  These are all good things to bring up, as you will be in the company of other Drupal developers who may have the answers.

If you've ever thought about presenting before but didn't have the time to put a long program together (or are shy about public speaking), no worry -- "Lightning Talks"  is for you. It's only 5 minutes!  And your talk could be the inspiration that helps a fellow Drupaler solve a problem, or be acclaimed as the subject for a longer program or DrupalCamp talk in the future.
