• ATL AngularJS

There's an AngularJS meetup group. From their Meetup.com page:

    Whose it geared towards:

For those newbies and professional front-end developers interested in AngularJS and JavaScript. Workshops, speakers, networking  and more to help our community grow and learn from each other.

    When do we meet:

Meetups are generally held the third Wednesday of every month, with the exception of certain workshops or events that would benefit better on another day of the week or a weekend in order for more people to attend.

  • Atlanta JavaScript Meetup

I guess I'd never really thought about it. Would you consider JavaScript to be Open Source? Well, Firefox supports it and Firefox is Open Source. Most of the Javascript libraries out there (JQuery, Moo, Prototype, etc) are open source. Even the EXT JS library has a GPL v3 version. So I guess I'll have to say that it's open. Anyway, there's a new JavaScript meetup forming. At the moment they haven't decided on a place to meet, and their charter is a bit thin: Meet other local JavaScripters to share knowledge, to review the state of the art, or to dream up new applications. But follow along, sign up and be there! See: The Atlanta JavaScript Meetup Page.

  • Atlanta Nodejs Developers

    From their Meetup.com page:

So I think it's time that Atlanta catches up with the rest of the innovative cities in this country and dive into the world of Node.

The focus of this group will be to learn node js through a practical approach. We will have keynote introductions of meetings, followed by discussions, and then hacking/development sessions where we will learn to rapidly build applications. While we may have the occasional outside expert speaker, our goals are to promote knowledge and gain experience in this new technology by work from members within the group.

Members may be developers of all skill levels, designers looking to leverave javascript skill sets, architects looking for faster ways to build scalable systems, and engineering managers who want to understand how this technology can be utilized in their company.

And of course anyone interested in changing the world.

We will have a heavy focus on mobile computing devices and other smart devices like TVs with less focus on plain desktop pc.

  • Ember.js
