Atlanta Nodejs Developers

From their Meetup.com page:

So I think it's time that Atlanta catches up with the rest of the innovative cities in this country and dive into the world of Node.

The focus of this group will be to learn node js through a practical approach. We will have keynote introductions of meetings, followed by discussions, and then hacking/development sessions where we will learn to rapidly build applications. While we may have the occasional outside expert speaker, our goals are to promote knowledge and gain experience in this new technology by work from members within the group.

Members may be developers of all skill levels, designers looking to leverave javascript skill sets, architects looking for faster ways to build scalable systems, and engineering managers who want to understand how this technology can be utilized in their company.

And of course anyone interested in changing the world.

We will have a heavy focus on mobile computing devices and other smart devices like TVs with less focus on plain desktop pc.

It's a Java/J2EE application platform, released under the Apache 2.0 license. You may have hear of some of its parts: Groovy and Grails. They seem to be closely tied to VMWare.
