There's a makerspace in Gwinnett county, called Geekspace Gwinnett. They are blooming nicely and have a Meetup Page for future meetings. I've been to a couple of events there.

BONUS ROUND! We are adding extra cosplay nights in preparation for DragonCon.

You may bring any costumes you are working on for advice, critique, or help solving problems. Or maybe you just want some company while you work! There are 2 sewing machines also available for use at the space (Bring your own thread to match). This workshop is not limited to sewing... whether you are building, painting, sewing, or simply designing this is your workshop! This is hosted my Mendy and Tamara, two members that are experienced in different cosplay techniques. They will also be bringing their own projects to work on if you are curious.

This workshop will be FREE for Geekspace Gwinnett members, and $5 for non members. Feel free to bring snacks, drinks, and your imagination.

We're starting a build to create a BeggarBot to bring to events and to live in our space. Anyone and everyone is invited to participate. No prior knowledge of robot building is necessary.

We are beginning our build with the base. This will include all the drive components as well as remote control parts.

A BeggarBot is a robot that can ask for, and receive donations. The ultimate design will be decided by the group, but I will incorporate a bill and coin acceptor, as well as various sensors and speakers

In this class you will learn the basics about working with thermoplastics. You will be able to identify different types of thermoplastics and define the various properties that they have. Types of equipment and products needed will be discussed. You will also make a small piece of armor using the "fold over" technique. Adding details to your armor and attachments will be covered in this workshop.
