There's a makerspace in Gwinnett county, called Geekspace Gwinnett. They are blooming nicely and have a Meetup Page for future meetings. I've been to a couple of events there.

An open discussion to for educators and mentors alike to talk about Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects in the classroom. Ben Martinez, coach to Geekspace Gwinnett’s Odyssey of the Mind team, will provide an overview of Arduino basics, illustrate how he incorporated in his team’s OM solutions, and begin discussions for what would make for an engaging Ardunio workshop for children. Brian Carlson and Robert Spencer, Geekspace members and mentors to the FRC robotics team 1261/Robolions, will be discussing how Raspberry Pi computers can be used in Project Based Learning to teach students robotics, electronics, and programming.

Co-hosted by the MakEdu Atl Maker Educators Meetup, this event is open to the public. All are welcome to attend!
