Ruby is a modern language that's gained traction with its Rails web application development framework. So much so that Ruby on Rails seems to be the de facto way to use this language. Championed by the folks at 37signals, it has a loyal following. They are now meeting on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Centergy Building off Tech Square, details on their meetup page:

Bring a laptop and a helpful disposition to this meetup. The goal of the gathering will be to get your Ruby questions answered. We HIGHLY encourage you to bring a personal Ruby project you've been hacking on.

We'll start by chatting about what we'd like to get out of the meetup, then possibly pair people with questions to people with answers. Hopefully everyone will get a chance to wear supply some questions and some answers. All levels welcome!

What we would like to get done:
    -Solve bugs
-Figure out what to learn/study/integrate next
-Explore new & old coding patterns & tools
    -Write/refactor good object-oriented code
    -Help one another grow

There will no formal presentations. We will meet at `Taproom Coffee & Beer` in Kirkwood - http://www.taproomcof.... Hope to see you there!

A presentation can be awesome, but nothing compares to getting your hands on that crisp keyboard. This meetup is about getting your hands on that keyboard. At every meetup, we split up into pairs and solve code challenges. The team that solves challenges totaling to the greatest number of points wins! Sound fun? We think so too.

Note that the challenges vary in difficulty based upon experience level, so don't worry if you're just starting out. Also note that we use the tool, so please get that installed before you come to the meetup.
